2015 AMBASSADOR PROJECTS
A month from now I will be embarking on my third annual cycle event for the Beautiful Gate charity. This year, rather than simply cycling 109km as part of the Cape Argus (the world’s largest timed cycling event in Cape Town), www.cycletour.co.za , I am warming up by cycling around 600km and over 6000m of uphill as part of the www.caperouleur.com pro-am event. In total, that’s about the same as cycling from London to Aberdeen and 3/4 of the way up Mount Everest ... all in 5 days!
So why am I doing this? Well, as you can see from the pictures below, it is to raise money and awareness for the great work done by the South African arm of the Beautiful Gate charity. It is a charity providing care and support to vulnerable children and families. They believe that the best place for each child is within a family, and that the best way to support families is to create a safe environment for early education, health and well-being. With simple housing and food, these children get an opportunity that they deserve and we take for granted.
It is a tough time everywhere in the world right now, and yet I still ask you to consider putting your hand in your pocket and support these kids through the great charity. A few kilometres cycling in the sunshine seems a small price to pay to see the smiles on their faces. Please help me to enjoy it even more by donating at the Tullow Team virginmoney page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/TullowBGCyclists

NEED AN IDEA?
This year more than 40 cyclists have joined our Ride for Hope Team. They will be tackling the 109km Cape Town Cycle Tour and raising funds for Beautiful Gate.
Some of the cyclists are raising funds online. Please support them via Givengain, a secure online donation platform. You can support one of the activists you know or support the Beautiful Gate staff team!
