We are working hard at Sustainability

We've been working with children for more than 20 years. We need your help to reach more children, but we are working hard at funding our overhead costs. Our sustainability projects include property rental, a café & conference centre, a second hand shop and a craft shop 

Property rental

We are creating a social services hub in the community of Crossroads, Philippi. We rent out space to like-minded organisations who share our vision for the community and can extend the services our beneficiaries can access.

The Crossroads Café

The Crossroads Café is a conference centre and restaurant with a difference. Situated in the heart of Cape Town's Crossroads township, on Beautiful Gate's premises, the venue provides a unique South African experience.

The Café offers two venues and various conference hosting packages. The staff are local residents of Crossroads/Philippi.

​Proceeds from the Crossroads Cafe support Beautiful Gate SA's ongoing work with children and families.

Second Hand Shop

Beautiful Gate started a second hand shop to provide affordable, good quality, used clothing and household items to our beneficiaries and members of the local community.

The shop is located on our site in two containers, and provides a way to generate some income for our work with children and families. At the same time it creates an opportunity to recycle items that are no longer of use to their owners, and creates dignity rather than dependency for our beneficiaries.

Craft Shop

The Craft Shop is a new initiative, launched in 2014, which provides an opportunity for Crossroad/Philippi artists to display and sell their work. The Craft Shop is located on our site in Crossroads, Philippi.
